I hope I did not misunderstood what you were asking, but I think the above is important to understand if you did not know this. Servers can be set in Tools > Options > Media Network. Go to Tools > Options > Media Network and turn on Media Network in each copy of MC. Price/performance ratio is heavily tilted in Foobars favor vs. This allows me to ignore whatever is on my laptop screen and concentrate on the music. The controller can play media from the DLNA server to another copy of MC or to a device. It does everything I want, including converting DSD files on the fly and can be controlled by my iPhone using Monkeymote iOS app. If you purchase DSF format rips or someone gives them to you JRivers is going to convert them to a PCM format and you will not be benefiting form the extra expensive of purchasing the download or trouble ripping the file for you due to your DAC only handling PCM format. JRiver includes a DLNA server, renderer and controller. You will not end up with DSF or DFF files, which come from the SACD DSD layer being ripped The only layer you will rip on a dual layer disc is the Redbook and if it is not dual layered and only SACD then you won't be able to rip the disc. The reason I asked, was if you aren't Ripping the SACD correctly all you will get are the PCM (Redbook) files ripped to the format of your choice that are offered for PCM files. ![]() ![]() Since then, little or nothing really useful has been done. Especially for audio, the last feature (playing DSD ) was years ago. Also you can use the current version, which has to be paid once cheap, forever. I have a setup that will play native DSD, without conversion to PCM, but I cannot tell the difference between that and DSD to PCM conversion. I generally listen to DSD converted by my player (JRiver) to PCM, which works with any DAC I know of. ![]() The software is quite alright as it is now. I rip discs to files using the PC + Blu-ray player method, which works with reasonable ease. ![]() What set up are you going to use to Rip the SACDs? The reason I ask is because you need a certain model of Oppo that the original firm was not updated on along with a Sony PlayStation or something like that, not sure haven't done it. What I like is their attitude to 'bit perfect is bit perfect'.
